Education for a Lifestyle of Service

The Inaugural Address of E. LeBron Fairbanks, fifth president of Mount Vernon (Ohio) Nazarene College, was presented on March 2, 1990. It articulates his core convictions about Christian higher education.

Summarized are his leadership style, curriculum commitments and a perspective on “Education for a Lifestyle of Service.” The address outlines the foundation for such a perspective, a model for it, and the results of a commitment to it.

The Effects of Laity Ministry Involvement on Transformational Discipleship

Reinbold's research used the Place Assessment among Nazarene congregations in Iowa to show a quantitative increase in engagement of participants in the areas of fellowship, witnessing to others and ministry to others. Additional qualitative measurements show increase in a participant's desire for community, clarification of identity and roles, and serving out of passion.
