Jeanne Serrão is the Dean of the School of Theology and Philosophy at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Before moving to Mount Vernon in 1999, Jeanne was the education pastor at Highland Avenue Community Church of the Nazarene in Alta Loma, Calif., where she also served as the administrator of Highland Christian School. Previously she taught at European Nazarene College, Trevecca Nazarene University, Nazarene Bible College, and Azusa Pacific University. She holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Claremont Graduate University, chairs the USA/Canada Women Clergy Council, and has convened the John A. Knight Bible and Theology Conferences and the Christian Women’s Leadership Conferences on the MVNU campus. Jeanne recently completed the development, writing, and editing of the new USA/Canada Foundations for Women’s Ordination module, has contributed to several books, journals and magazines, and is the author of a commentary on James (New Beacon Bible Commentary Series). Jeanne and her husband, Carlos, have both served at Mount Vernon Nazarene University for 16 years and live in Howard, Ohio. They love taking pastors and students on academic trips to the Middle East and Europe.
